The Struggle is real. We all struggle with something every day. Do we hit snooze or get up? Do we exercise or not? Do we accomplish the task in front of us today or call it a lazy day? There is always something. For some of us, we call these choices not struggles. Lisa Turkerhurst wrote in the Best Yes, today’s choices are tomorrow’s circumstances. I have written this on my heart and mind and use it to face the day. Whatever I choose in this moment will eventually be the circumstance. May not be a circumstance right away but eventually, it will come back around.
Today I struggled in my own mind to go for my 1st run. It was only 1.5 miles but if I didn’t do the first run how can I do the 2nd or 3rd or 4th. I had to start. Today was the day. After multiple conversations, while hitting the snooze button, I convinced myself it was time to get up and move. I am already glad I did. You see if I would have stayed in my bed then when I finally did wake up I would have felt like a failure for not accomplishing the task I had set out to complete. Or I could have ran later that morning and regretted it the rest of the day because I would have messed up my schedule. Either way, I would have paid for not choosing the best yes.
I ran my first run of 1.5 miles in 17:00 minutes. Not too shabby. I know that this choice will help me achieve my weight loss goals and my running goals.
