Why Not Me?

So I am sitting here beyond unmotivated thinking, why? Why am I not doing what I dream about? Why am I not willing to put in the work to make things happen? What do I need to do to get focused? I know I am not the only one.

Well, I already know answers to all of my own questions. I am being lazy. I am not eating properly and depleting myself of things that help me focus. I know what I need to do I am just choosing to settle for mediocre. So how do I change this?

Well, I know the answer to this as well. DO IT!!!! MOVE!!! DON’T WAIT GO GET IT!!!! (This is me yelling at myself.) I also have accountability. A friend just texted and said, Did you write and schedule your next blog post? And I said NOPE. With that, I opened the computer and started typing. Accountability can go a long way when you are trying to accomplish goals. I also have another friend asking what time we are working out tonight? Again not something I really feel like but because of our commitment to each other, it is scheduled and will happen. You need accountability.

You also need good self-talk, affirmations. Notice above I did not say I am lazy, I am fat…. I said I am choosing to settle. I am choosing to stand still instead of move, I am choosing to eat badly because it is easy and convenient. I know I am smart, beautiful, strong, and fully capable of achieving my dreams. Not because someone has told me because I believe in me. You have to believe in yourself. You have to fill your surroundings with positive things and people. When the negativity starts, step in front of it and overcome. The mind is a powerful thing. Stop over thinking. If you just sit and focus on the plan and do not start moving the plan was a waste of time. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect to start. You just have to start.

Do you need to read that quote again? Go ahead I will wait……..

I will be writing this on my mirror, on my refrigerator, my dashboard, my treadmill…. Anywhere I may drift to be unproductive or just need the reminder to continue.

Create who you are, not what the world has told you. Create the image that will inspire and help others. Create greatness and strive for more. You can do this. I can do this. Let’s do it together. Comment and let me know your struggles and let’s create who we want to become together.
